  14. 1.  Installing Thomas Regional on CD-ROM
  15.  
  16. Thomas Regional on CD-ROM is a Windows CD-ROM program.  To install Thomas 
  17. Regional on CD-ROM, insert the Thomas Regional CD into your CD-ROM drive.  
  18. In the 'File' menu of your Windows Program Manager, select the 'Run' menu 
  19. item.  The 'Run Program' dialog box should now be displayed on your 
  20. screen.  Click the 'Browse' button, select SETUP.EXE from the root of the 
  21. Thomas Regional CD, and click 'OK'.  Now click 'OK' in the 'Run Program' 
  22. dialog box.

  24. The Thomas Regional on CD-ROM installation program will now run.  You will 
  25. be prompted for several directories where you want Thomas Regional on 
  26. CD-ROM to be installed, and several options for installation.  Follow the 
  27. directions as they are displayed.

  29. Once the installation has finished the following new directories will
  30. reside on your hard drive (based on default Thomas Regional on CD-ROM 
  31. directories) -
  32.  
  33.     C:\TREND        (Base Thomas Regional on CD-ROM directory)
  34.     C:\TREND\NYJ        (Greater New York & New Jersey program directory)
  35.     C:\TREND\TUTORIAL    (User Tutorial directory)
  36.  
  37. The Thomas Regional on CD-ROM install program will also create a Windows 
  38. Program Group for running Thomas Regional on CD-ROM.  The default name of 
  39. this Program Group is 'Thomas Regional'.

  42. 2.  Running Thomas Regional on CD-ROM
  43.  
  44. To run Thomas Regional on CD-ROM, insert the Thomas Regional CD into your 
  45. CD-ROM drive, open the Thomas Regional Windows Program Group, and 
  46. double click on the Thomas Regional on CD-ROM icon.

  48. You may also run Thomas Regional on CD-ROM by using the 'Run' menu item 
  49. in the 'File' menu of your Windows Program Manager.  Next click the 
  50. 'Browse' button, change the current directory to your local Thomas 
  51. Regional on CD-ROM directory (default directory is C:\TREND\NYJ), and 
  52. select TREND.EXE in that directory.  Click 'OK' in this 'Browse' dialog 
  53. box, and then click 'OK' in the 'Run Program' dialog box.  This will then 
  54. run Thomas Regional on CD-ROM.

  57. 3.  Running the Thomas Regional on CD-ROM Tutorial from your CD-ROM drive
  58.  
  59. If you wish to run the tutorial from your CD-ROM drive, go to your 
  60. CD-ROM drive in File Manager, and run either TUTORIAL.EXE 
  61. (w/ sound) or TUTORNS.EXE (w/out sound) from the TUTORIAL 
  62. subdirectory of the Thomas Regional CD.

  65. 4.  Uninstalling the Thomas Regional on CD-ROM Tutorial
  66.  
  67. If you are concerned about saving local hard drive space, you can
  68. uninstall the Thomas Regional on CD-ROM Tutorial without effecting the 
  69. Thomas Regional on CD-ROM program in any way.  To do this, open your File 
  70. Manager and go to your local Thomas Regional on CD-ROM Tutorial directory,
  71. and delete the files TUTORIAL.EXE and TUTORNS.EXE from that directory 
  72. (approx. 3 MB).  Then you may remove the Tutorial program items from the 
  73. Thomas Regional program group by highlighting each icon, and pressing 
  74. DELETE.

  77. 5.  Uninstalling Thomas Regional on CD-ROM
  78.  
  79. When Thomas Regional on CD-ROM is first installed on your machine, an 
  80. icon should appear in your program manager called "Uninstall Greater New
  81. York & New Jersey".  Simply double click this icon to start the uninstall 
  82. program.  It is recommended that you select "Automatic" when asked how 
  83. you want to uninstall Thomas Regional on CD-ROM.
